Obama "praying" at the wall

The US, Palestine and the pursuit of justice

"In an ironic way, the judgement by a US court against the PLO and the Palestinian Authority maybe the best thing that has happened to Palestinians in years.

"Once the US courts agree to adjudicate cases of violence against Americans in the Middle East, they will have no choice but to take similar cases by Jewish terrorist groups against American Palestinians and ultimately state terrorism acts by the State of Israel." News Link

'Gaza rebuilding might take 100 years if Israeli blockade persists'

"It could take 100 years to complete essential building of homes, schools and health facilities in Gaza unless the Israeli blockade is lifted," said an Oxfam report, said Xinhua.

"Less than 0.25 percent of the truckloads of essential construction materials needed have entered Gaza in the past 3 months," it said, adding the situation in Gaza is "becoming increasingly desperate".

"Around 100,000 Gazans are still living in shelters, temporary accommodations or with extended families after their homes were destroyed. Tens of thousands more families are living in badly damaged homes." News Link

Israeli military lawyer says ICC probe not a concern

"Israel's own internal probes are sufficient, said advocate general Maj. Gen. Danny Efroni.

"I am not concerned because I think I am doing my job," Efroni told journalists on the sidelines of a conference about the laws of armed conflict. He said the quality and professionalism of the investigations being carried out were "sufficient enough" to stave off a probe by the international court.

"Israel has also come under fire from critics who say it fails to thoroughly investigate its military operations or prosecute soldiers for abuses. Israel says it does investigate its actions, although those inquiries rarely lead to criminal punishment." News Link
